Krysta was my son’s piano teacher fourteen years ago when he began lessons at six years old. From Krysta, he developed a love for music and performance that continues today. Every lesson was well-prepared and deliberate. Krysta was kind, patient, quickly recognized my son’s strengths, and shored up areas where he needed more attention with different approaches. In the beginning, she spent time with him on the floor learning note values and intervals. She answered all his questions about the mechanics of the piano, even when they came from underneath the piano. She encouraged his budding love of performance, highlighting its musicality while giving him techniques to manage the pressure. Krysta's lessons were always enjoyable; my son looked forward to them. He continued with piano throughout high school, often achieving “Distinction” in his juries at Levine Music. Now in college, he still practices many days a week on his own. I attribute much of his love for the piano and discipline to Krysta, as his first teacher.
